The Fresno Police Department responded to a crash near Church and Chestnut Avenue late Sunday morning. They found multiple vehicles in disrepair and two people injured.
The crash occurred when a black Toyota Camry ran a red light at the intersection, striking a van and one other vehicle.
The driver of the Camry and the driver of the van were taken to the hospital, although their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Witnesses stated the Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Officers at the scene suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol at time.
“Driving under the influence causes accidents,” says Fresno Police Department Sgt. Mike Hudson. “This person didn’t stop at the red light which caused serious damage to these vehicles and injuries to other parties and other drivers.”
An investigation into the cause of the accident remains underway.
A serious charge needs a serious defense
A DUI charge has consequences beyond fines. You may lose your license, your job, and even face prison time – this isn’t even to mention the damage to your reputation, which may take years to repair.
Considering the stakes, having the right DUI defense attorney by your side is critical. They know what the prosecution needs to prove their case and can launch a counter-investigation to uncover the truth.
Tulare residents shouldn’t hesitate to get started. The early stages of a criminal trial have a disproportionate impact on the outcome.
