On Oct. 13, Santa Rosa police detained seven individuals on drug-related charges following a reported shooting. According to authorities, the shooting incident was reported at about 11 a.m., when a man told officials that he heard gunfire at a Finley Avenue residence. Purportedly, a confrontation over a sale involving marijuana took place at the residence.
Police ultimately took the man who reported the shooting into custody for possession of methamphetamine, authorities said. At the Finley Avenue residence, police allegedly discovered four men with open boxes containing marijuana. When police arrived at the residence, other people reportedly fled a back room of the residence. However, police noticed two men on a nearby property and took them into custody, according to authorities.
After allegedly finding more than two dozen marijuana plants in the Finley Avenue property’s yard, police obtained and executed a search warrant at the property, discovering 230 pounds of processed marijuana, six more marijuana plants, 12 guns and $14,000 in cash.
Altogether, police took seven individuals into custody, including a male juvenile, authorities reported. Four of the individuals were booked into Sonoma County Jail for growing, reaping and processing marijuana, while two others were booked for possession of opium pipes and controlled substances. The juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall for growing, reaping and processing cannabis, reportedly.
