Five days after being taken into police custody on drug-related charges, a popular comedian, actor and radio show star tweeted about his experience. California fans may be interested in knowing that Artie Lange, who formerly appeared on the “Howard Stern Show”, indicated that he is a “flawed person” who hopes that his story ends well. According to media sources , Lange’s tweet followed an incident that occurred earlier in the garage of his own home, which is located in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Sources report that Hoboken Police Department officers responded to the home on March 12 to investigate a report that someone was attempting to enter a vehicle in the garage. During the investigation, one of the officers observed what appeared to be cocaine and heroin inside the vehicle before they were approached by Lange. A search of his person was conducted after Lange confirmed that the vehicle belonged to him. During the search, officers discovered several additional bags of the suspected substances.
Lange had previously chronicled his struggle with addiction in a collection of memoirs. Although few additional details concerning the events of March 12 are available, news reports indicate that Lange is now facing charges related to the possession of heroin and cocaine.
When a resident of California is facing similar drug charges, that individual may want to seek counsel from an attorney who is well versed in the complexities of the criminal justice system. Dependent upon the facts of the case, the attorney may be able to challenge the prosecution’s evidence or have the charges reduced through negotiations conducted outside of the courtroom on the client’s behalf.
