Police nabbed two armed suspects following a failed gas station robbery in Glendora on Feb. 7. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 a.m.
According to Glendora police, an armed man entered a Mobile gas station at Grand Avenue and Route 66 and attempted to rob the clerk. However, according to the report, the clerk resisted, causing the man to flee the establishment and run to a waiting Infiniti sedan parked across the street. The clerk then reportedly flagged down a passing police officer, who began a pursuit of the men.
The men allegedly led police on a 1.5 mile chase that ended when the Infiniti lost control at the corner of Grand Avenue and Armstead Street and plowed into a vacant corner house. The alleged gunman, a 21-year-old Highland man, and the alleged getaway driver, a 21-year-old Riverside man, were taken into custody. Police say that they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle. The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The alleged gunman was charged with attempted robbery. He was held on $100,000 bail. The alleged getaway driver was charged with attempted robbery and evading police. He was held on $52,000 bail.

An attorney could protect a client’s rights as they are questioned by police and work to establish a defense strategy to fight the allegations in court. In some cases, it may be advisable for a defendant to accept a plea deal in which charges are reduced in exchange for a guilty plea.
